The popular "Chat Room" culture

We know that a chat is a friendly informal conversation. One chats about anything under the sky. This is too with computers. Chat rooms are online communication media, where people chat with one another. Welcome to the Chat room!

One of the most popular uses of the Internet is as a forum for all people all over the world to communicate in real time. This is done using IRC (Internet Relay Chat) which consists of various separate networks of servers that allow you to "chat" online with anyone, anytime. The ITC networks vary in size. The largest networks are under net, IRC net, DAL net, NEW net and EF net. EF net was the original IRC net and often has more than 32,000 people on it at once. To connect to an IRC server you need to run a program known as a "client" But you don’t have to connect to IRC to have a chat. Thousands of internet sites are available which have chat rooms of their own. None of these facilities require special software. Conversation may be public (where everyone in a channel can see what you type) or private (messages between just two people, who may or may not be on the same channel). Here everyone is known by a nickname. Every user need to know 'Netiquette'. It is the basics of good Internet behavior and how to use the Net politely and with responsibility.

Chat room has made communication more flexible regardless of long distances. Chat room has become primary mode of entertainment among the youth these days. The Chat room is exposed to dangers such as Cybersex. So, it is our responsibility to make effective usage of Chat rooms.
